Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
Ultreia is a small business. One person reads the email that comes in through this site, and that person is me. This policy explains what information I collect, why I collect it, and what I do with it. I have tried to write it in plain language rather than in the usual legal fog.
Who I am
If anything here is unclear, write to me at rob@walkwithultreia.com and I will answer.
This site, walkwithultreia.com, is operated by Robert Sanders, doing business as Ultreia, located in Lewisburg, West Virginia, United States.
For questions about this policy or about information I hold about you:

What I collect
Information you give me directly. When you subscribe to the blog, join the mailing list, request a call, or write to me, you provide some combination of your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you choose to tell me in a message field. You decide how much to share. Only your email address is required to subscribe.
Information collected automatically. This site is built on Wix, which collects standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that sent you here. This happens through cookies and similar technologies. I use this to understand which pages people actually read. I do not use it to identify you personally.
Information you provide as a participant. If you go on to work with me, you will share considerably more: your professional history, what you are navigating, and the substance of our coaching conversations. That information is handled under the terms of your client services agreement, not this policy. In short, it is confidential and I do not share it.
What I do not collect.
I do not take payment through this website, so no payment card information passes through it. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. I do not buy contact lists or add people to my mailing list who did not ask to be there.
Why I collect it, and what I do with it
To send you what you asked for. If you subscribed to the blog or joined the mailing list, I will send you writing about professional transition and pilgrimage, and news about upcoming walks. That is the whole of it. I do not send daily anything.
To respond to you. If you request a Threshold Conversation or send a message, I use your contact information to reply and to schedule a call.
To run and improve the site. Aggregate traffic data tells me which pages are useful and which are not.
To meet legal and record-keeping obligations. Including keeping proof of your consent to receive email.
I do not sell your information. I do not rent it, trade it, or share it with data brokers. I do not run advertising on this site and I do not allow advertisers to target you through it.
Who else can see your information
I use a small number of service providers to run this business. They can access your information only to perform their function for me, and they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
• Wix, which hosts this website, stores my contact list, and sends my email campaigns.
• Scheduling and video conferencing tools used to book and hold Threshold Conversations and coaching sessions.
• Email and file storage providers used in the ordinary course of running the business.
One case worth calling out specifically. Ultreia does not book travel. If you join a walk, you arrange your own accommodation, luggage transfer, and on-route support directly with a local operator in Portugal. I will introduce you, and to do that I need to share your name and email with them. I will ask you first, and I will not pass your details to any operator without your say-so. Once you are in contact with them, your relationship with that operator is governed by their privacy policy, not mine.
I may also disclose information if I am legally required to, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.
Email, and how to stop receiving it
Every marketing email I send includes an unsubscribe link. It works immediately and I do not make you explain yourself. You can also simply reply and ask, or write to rob@walkwithultreia.com.
If you unsubscribe, I may still contact you about something you specifically asked for, such as a Threshold Conversation you requested or logistics for a walk you have joined.
Cookies
Wix sets cookies that are necessary for the site to work, along with analytics cookies that tell me how the site is being used. You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. Necessary cookies cannot be turned off without breaking parts of the site. Wix publishes its own cookie documentation, which covers the technical detail more thoroughly than I can here.
How long I keep things
I keep your contact information for as long as you are subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterward so that I have a record of your consent and your unsubscribe. If you ask me to delete your information entirely, I will, subject to any records I am legally required to retain.
How I protect it
Your information sits behind the security controls of the platforms named above, which use encryption in transit and access controls. My accounts use strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication.
I will be straight with you: no system is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What I can tell you is that I collect very little, I share almost none of it, and the list of people with access to it is one person long.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask me to:
• Tell you what information I hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information
• Stop sending you email
• Send you a copy of your information in a portable format
Write to rob@walkwithultreia.com and I will respond within 30 days. I will not charge you and I will not treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to object to processing, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Where I process your information, I do so on the basis of your consent, or where necessary to perform a contract with you, or in my legitimate interests in operating a small business. You may withdraw consent at any time. Note that your information is stored and processed in the United States.
If you are in California, you have rights under California law to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. I do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Children
This site and this program are for working adults. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided me with information, write to me and I will delete it.
Changes
If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top. If the change is significant and affects people already on my mailing list, I will say so in an email rather than quietly editing the page.
