Day-by-Day Outline

Ponte de Lima
Arrival and our first night together. Dinner, introductions, and the threshold opening. You will meet the people you are about to walk with, and invited to name what you are carrying.

Ponte de Lima to Cossourado, 22 km
We leave over the medieval bridge and climb the Alto da Portela Grande, the steepest ascent on the entire Camino Portugués. It is the hardest day of the walk and it comes first, on purpose. You will arrive tired and you will have stopped thinking about your inbox.

Cossourado to Valença, 13 km
A short descent through forest into the Minho valley. We arrive early at the fortress town of Valença, with Spain visible across the river. The border is right there and we do not cross it today. There is a reason for that.

Valença to O Porriño, 19 km
We walk across the international bridge over the Minho and into Spain on foot. Most people cross this border at 70 miles an hour without looking up. We cross it step by step, one country behind us and another ahead. The rest of the day is quieter, and it is meant to be.

O Porriño to Arcade, 22 km
A long day through Redondela, where the route comes over a rise and the Ría de Vigo opens up below. The first sight of the sea. We finish in Arcade on the water.

Day 5
Day 6

Arcade to Pontevedra, 12 km
The shortest day. We cross the Ponte Sampaio, a medieval stone bridge, and arrive in Pontevedra by early afternoon with hours to spare. Rest is part of the design, not a gap in it.

Day 7

Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis, 21 km
Vineyards and forest tracks into a town built on hot springs, where pilgrims have soaked their feet for centuries. We will do the same.

Day 8

Caldas de Reis to Padrón, 19 km
Into Galician farm country and the town where the Camino story is said to begin. Tradition holds that the boat carrying the body of St. James came up this river. Two days from the end, with Santiago close enough to feel.

Day 9

Padrón to Santiago de Compostela, 25 km
The longest day, and the last. We walk into the square before the Cathedral, and then we stop. Our closing session happens that evening, before anyone gets on a plane.

Travel and Accommodations

Ultreia's role is to walk beside you as your guide and coach. The practical logistics of the Camino, your lodging, meals, and luggage, are handled by our independent local partner, a licensed Camino specialist based in Ponte de Lima, the very town where our pilgrimage begins. They arrange your private room and private bathroom every night, daily luggage transfer, and on-route support across the nine nights from Ponte de Lima to Santiago de Compostela.

Participants book and pay our local partner directly. Current rates for a private room typically run in the range of $1,400 to $1,500 per person, though final pricing comes from our logistics partner directly and may vary. Ultreia does not arrange, sell, or receive any portion of these travel bookings.

Once you've enrolled in the walk, we'll introduce you directly to our contact with our partner to arrange your stay.

Continuing the work

For those who want to keep going after the walk, Rob offers ongoing individual sessions at $1,000 per month for four sessions, month to month, with no long-term commitment.

Hold Your Place

Roster close date: July 1, 2027

Every pilgrim begins with a Threshold Conversation. This is a chance to talk about your transition, what you are carrying, and whether this walk, at this time, is right for you. Afterward, a non-refundable deposit of $500 holds your place on the roster.
